Pynk Diamondz In The House, Representing Cincinnati, Ohio

Hey DDS Nation! Let me introduce you to one of the hardest working Dance Teams in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Pynk Diamondz. The PD's Director is Ms Tamera Coates. Tamera is a Coach, as well. PD's, Co Director & also Coach is, Lashay Kennedy. Tamera and Lashay founded the Pynk Diamondz 1 year ago, June 10th. Both Tamera and Lashay graduated from the Performing Arts High School in Cincinnati. Tamera's younger sister, Kellye Coates also coaches at PD. Jayvonte Stanford is the choreographer who brings the sync and flair, to the amazing dances the Pynk Diamondz perform.

Tamera told us, the Pynk Diamondz, chosen form of dance is majorette, though they teach all kinds of dance. Majorette style dance offers many opportunities to incorporate other dance styles into the program, such as hip-hop. Just like the Dancing Dolls, they strive for creativity and versatility in their routines.Tamera said  "Dance of all kinds is beautiful and we want to capture as much of that beauty, that LIFE, as possible".

Pynk Diamondz have a full program of 50 dancers, ranging from 6-19. As with all activities, there are kids graduating or moving and then there are tryouts that either lessens or adds to the team. The PD attend competitions throughout the Cincinnati Metro area and across the Tri-State area, which includes Kentucky and Indiana. They are hoping to travel down South, to their first competition, down in our part of the world, later this year.
Just like all true organizations that work hard to provide activities for kids, money is always an uphill climb. They have to raise money to travel and get costumes and every other detail that comes up. But Tamera's faith and hard work is something that pushes the Pynk Diamonds to keep going and to keep on keeping on. Tamera told us, "Funds are limited but, in due time and Lord willing, it will happen."

We wanted to know what the Coaches thought, Dance brought to the lives of their team. Tamera told us, "Dancing has brought so much life to these ladies, since we started the Diamondz. The girls transformation has been amazing. The turn around, their perseverance, and their determination is nothing short of amazing, as well."

She told us that the Pynk Diamondz have kids, whose parents have been lost, to violence, siblings to horrible illness and currently have an amazing young lady, who has cancer, that dances beautifully. Her cancer is in remission but through all of her chemo and treatments, she refused to feel sorry for herself or allow anyone else to feel sorry for her.

Tamera told us though she was limited in her ability, to practice normally, she never stopped. Now, with the cancer in remission, she is dancing Harder Than EVER! "Dancing gives life and it can SAVE LIVES too," Coach T told us. She has seen grades get better, behavior get much better and definitely a great improvement in attitudes.

Kids who previously were asking, "What Future?" have become young women who are now saying..."Any future I WANT!" Tamera said, "This is the values we want to and feel we have instilled. They all have beautiful BRIGHT, FULFILLING FUTURES." She said that traveling and meeting people from other places, gives them a broader view of the world. They see that no matter how DIFFERENT folks are, there are things that connect us all, that are amazing. Being involved gives them discipline and responsibility, she told us. She also said, "We encourage, Faith, Family, Friends, Self Worth and Personal Strength." A combination, we know builds strong women.

The Pynk Diamondz Captains are: Monique Kannler, Sr. Head Captain, Monjae Sanders, Sr. Captain, Shaunai Frazier also, Sr. Captain and Kourtney Lee is Jr. Head Captain. Hey from DDS Nation Beautiful ladies!

Of course, you are wondering about Baby PD...lol...yes we asked that too. And yes there is a Baby team. They are called the Diamond Minnies! They are 6-10 years old. But Coach T was quick to let us know, just like our Baby Dolls, that Baby part, means nothing. She told us the younger girls feel they have something to prove to their older sisters, so they are always working twice as hard as the older girls. She said, "Don't let the name "MINNIE" FOOL YOU...BIG THINGS COME IN MINI-SIZED packages...LOL..Yes maam, we certainly understand that.

Our last question to the Pynk Diamondz was, would they like to compete with the Dancing Dolls? We loved her answer. She told us, " We would LOVE to compete against the Dolls!!!" She said they had answered the call, when the Dolls were looking for other teams, interested in competing. She said, they did tryouts, but were not chosen. Another team that the Pynk Diamondz beat, was chosen instead.

Tamera is faithful to her belief that hard work pays off. She feels that their team needs to focus on getting better, all the time. She knows they are a young team still and her hope is to keep working and practicing and maybe down the road, the Pynk Diamonds will get their chance to stand toe to toe with the Dancing Dolls. She knows it would be the experience of a lifetime for them. But until then, she said, they will keep watching the Dolls and loving what they do. They are all huge fans and follow the Dolls, as a part of DDS Nation.

We loved doing this interview with Tamera Coates. She is smart and loves her dancers. Her and Lashay's dedication and love to their mission of teaching dance and teaching life lessons, is something that shines in their team. We look forward to following the Pynk Diamondz on their journey. Check out their FB page and say hi to them from our DDS Nation. Thanks Tamera and Lashay...We love you guys...Keep on doing what you do! We will be watching your success!

Putting Jackson's "Country Ass" On The Map

Well, we know, we are almost finished with Season 2A, of Bring It. Last weeks show was one of the most entertaining, this season. It was exciting from start to finish.

The Stand Battle was between the Dancing Dolls and the Purple Diamonds. Jackson, Mississippi's, two best Dance Teams. With two losses to PD already, everybody knew it was going to be a kick ass or go home, kind of day. Dianna's confidence never wavered...she stood tough and portrayed that confidence, to the team...no losing...no doubts. Purple Diamonds has a Coach that can be as tough as Dianna. She don't play and she works those girls hard, until their routines are perfect. She was just as confident, that the PD would be going home with the trophy.

This show, put Kayla in the position of being the one to answer, whatever PD was bringing. We know this will be her last year as a Dancing Doll, but are hoping, she will continue to be a part of the Dollhouse. Ms. Dianna used this episode, last week, as a stepping stone for her future. She put Kayla in the position of leading the Dolls, as if she were Dianna. It was obvious Dianna trusts her and is allowing her to show, what she can do. It came down to tears, but Kayla got the job done. Her dedication to excellence, showed in the Stand Battle. It is beautiful to watch Kayla mature into the strong, independent, hard working woman, she is becoming.

Of course, there is always some sort of Mama Drama, happening. Lots of Mamas in one place...all wanting 'their babies' to be in the spotlight...some already moving on to bigger and better things but still caught up in the heat of the show and the moment. It is a continuing saga that promises to keep us entertained and on top, of the inside struggles, of these women. Stay tuned for Season 2B for things to get even hotter...I am curious to see where Ms Tina shows up, next Season.

But, the most entertaining and the biggest shock of the night was Ms. Traci from Miami SupaStarz, making her Grand Entrance. As you know, the SupaStarz were not performing, so as soon as she came strolling into the gym..you could feel the air get thick and blood beginning to boil..Dianna couldn't help but go check out, the reason behind this Nosey Nelly, showing up.
Just the look in their eyes, told the story...though they may be cordial and hang in the same places from time to time, there is deep competition that is fierce and constant.

It has been known, for a while, that Traci feels like Jackson Mississippi should have been in the movie Deliverance and the people who happen to come from there, are offsprings, from that movie. Comments have been made in the past about "Country Ass People," in reference to Dianna and Jackson. We have seen, Dianna is like the rest of us "Country Folks". She takes offense to people from the City or from "OTHER" places who try, to put them down. Coming from Big Ole Miami..she walked in with that "Big City" attitude showing, ready to attempt to put Dianna down, again.

Dianna met her at the door. I am thinking wait, hold up, where is Security?...We may be fixin to witness a Cat Fight, for real. But as most grown folks do, there was lots of sparking and lots of sharp claws showing, but cooler heads prevailed. Dianna point blank asked Traci what she was doing, showing up at the competition. Of course Traci don't back down either....she told Dianna she was checking out what the Dolls were doing. We know, with the Battle Royale coming, all of the competition is anxious to know what the Dolls are doing.

Dianna was quick and to the point with Traci. She told her, she hoped she enjoyed their "Country Ass" town. LOL! Right? I almost fell out of my chair when she told her that. If you are from the COUNTRY, anywhere in America, you have a Special Place in your heart for Country folks everywhere. But if you are not from Small town, country USA, you may be inclined to think like most ignorant folks do, that country folks are just stupid and backwards. They tend to talk slower like Country Folks, don't understand what they are saying and they treat us, like they need to read the instructions for us.

Probably, the fastest way to get your head snapped off with Country Folks, is to treat them like that. That's what Dianna did. She let Traci know, if you think we are stupid, then go ahead, but it would appear the Dumb Ole Country Ass Girl has put Dumb Ole Country Ass, Jackson Mississippi on the map. So now who looks dumb? I loved it. It is amazing to see people's faces when they realize, you are not as ignorant, as they thought.

Dianna and the Dancing Dolls continue to show the world that being "Country" has nothing to do with being intelligent or being savvy about business or life. She has went from a Small town Dance Studio Owner to a International Sweetheart, rockin Lifetime TV. Just a reminder for all those Big City Folks who were hatin and doubtin! We Country Ass Folks aren't living in the movie Deliverance and we didn't fall off any local Turnip trucks. LOL.

Well, get ready. The Battle Royale is coming..Don't miss anything! The Dolls are ready and able to put their final stamp of this season on the competition, especially the Miami SupaStarz

Quincy: Is It Real Or Is It Memorex?

Well this Season of Bring It is coming to an end. It has been a wild ride from the 1st Episode. We have gone through Dianna raising the roof to the Mama Drama and last week, we watched as Quincy, Coach of the Prancing Tigerettes had a meltdown. Not a meltdown of nerves or a meltdown caused by being afraid of losing, but one of over acting.

We know that much drama is instilled into reality shows, to heighten the experience for the people watching, but I think Quincy may be over the top, ALL the time. The Baby Tigerettes came out on top, when they battled the previous week., though we haven't figured out why. Quincy came full out, with the main squad. He was as full of himself, as I have ever seen. With the previous week's win, his obnoxious level went from 100-10,000. Calling Dianna out, basically.

The thing with his cockiness, it's all because he has spent countless hours going to Doll events, skulking around, trying to learn what makes the Dolls, so damn good. It wasn't hours spent designing his own choreography...it was spent being a copy cat....which is very, sad. I agree there are no patents on dance moves or routines, but if you spend all of your time, JUST copying other teams, where is your originality?

His explanation that he changed it up, to make it better, was weak at best. So Quincy spent the entire show, talking trash and running his head. When it came down to brass tacks, he failed the test. But Quincy wasn't the only fly in the ointment last week.

Our sweetheart Selena is like a dog with a bone, over her children. Can't say I blame her for pushing and planning and trying to get the best for your child, but it is borderline aggravating. She worries the hell out of Dianna over her girls. She spent the better part of last week railing at Dianna about the twins. NO MATTER HOW BAD they dance or how much everybody else can see how bad they are doing, Selena is sure they are the best ones on the floor. Which, as we know is normal behavior for Selena. She is dramatic and has kept us laughing and shaking our heads, since the show came on. I know Dianna gets to the point she wants to slap the hell out of her.....lol.

Dianna's knee injury, had her on a crutch and had her attitude crutched up as well...lol. She attempted to talk to Selena, cause Selena said that is what she wanted.....but when Dianna tried to say anything, Selena couldn't find the off button, so Dianna just walked off on her. WOW....LOL..

When the Dolls hit the floor for the Creative Dance...the house went totally wild. Dianna's, 80's, Janet Jackson themed dance was amazing. The precision she had demanded during practice, shined through brightly. Everybody looked fantastic and they rocked the floor. Best dance all season, I think.

Stand Battles came down to the Prancing Tigerettes and the Dancing Dolls. I almost fell out of my chair when the girl on the Tigerettes hit the floor trying to be Kayla...LOL..Kayla almost fell over. The look on her face was priceless. Then another girl came out acting like Camryn..OMG..You are kidding, right? Nope, Quincy was not kidding...He had spent more than one practice TRYING to teach his team to DANCE LIKE DOLLS...When the scorecard came down from our Teacher, Coach D, Quincy FAILED. Report Card IS IN QUINCY...YOU GOT AN F!

F For FAILING TO COPY PROPERLY and F For FEELING YOU CAN COPY ANYTHING the Dolls do and copy it well....and F For BEING TOO BIG FOR YOUR BRITCHES....Total Night....FFFFF....LOL. So the Question for Quincy would be...Is is REAL or Is It Memorex? LOL.. Of Course the Dolls walked away with the win. We knew they would. The precision and the originality of their dances carried the day. Though they did a reenactment of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation...they did it with their own flare and moves...not a Copycat dance.

It has been a great Season for the Dancing Dolls and our show "Bring It". As it winds down and we get ready for the Battle Royale, we know that soon, it will be break time for our girls. As they get ready to film the next Season, we know, they are coming back before long, ready with new battles and new drama. We know we have several of our Dolls graduating and will be leaving. It will be exciting to see where the show and the girls go from here. We can surely expect to see lots more, "Mama Drama", especially with our sweet Selena. She has more years to be involved with the Dolls and promises never to leave us, bored or not entertained. LOL.

The Battles are far from over and though we will be seeing new faces, we know we are going to be super excited by the time the next season gets here. Folks will be filling their Friday nights with reruns of Bring It and anything online, that has Dolls in it. It has been fun and we can't wait for the "Battle Royale". Who will carry the Season, DDS Nation? Are the Dolls going to come out on top for the Final Battle of the Season? Stay Tuned! We Will Be There!
